It gives you Dongfeng Square's Lines 2 and 3, a practical airport connection, and a straightforward pickup address for Stone Forest. The Old Street walk starts west of the hotel; allow 20–30 minutes on foot, or use Line 3 toward 西山公园 to 五一路 and continue on foot.

Room choice

IHG's room description lists a 28 m² Standard Room with one King or two Twin beds.

Choose the exact bed category for your dates. Premium rooms have a published 32–56 m² range; that extra space is useful for a longer room stay, whereas a Standard room is the sensible starting comparison for two people spending days outside.

Check-in and booking

The property lists arrival access from 14:00 and departure by 12:00.

On the dated offer, compare the full room total, breakfast and cancellation deadline together. Give everyone's passport names and send a late flight arrival through the property booking message. For an early arrival or a later departure, arrange luggage storage around the agreed room-access time. IHG lists neither an airport shuttle nor a local-area shuttle; use the metro, taxi or a separately agreed transfer.

Door and room

Grand Park Kunming's operator booking page is the alternative for a lake-first stay at 昆明君乐酒店 · 洪化桥20号, telephone +86 871 6538 6688.

The operator's October 2025 directory lists Superior and Deluxe categories and places the hotel close to Cuihu and the Military Academy. Choose the actual dated bed offer through the property; the brochure's categories describe the hotel rather than today's remaining rooms.

Choose this location

Choose this base when morning park walks matter more than the airport metro connection.

Budget a taxi for the arrival with luggage and the western or southeastern outings. Keep the same booked property name and door address in every driver message; a pickup described merely as Green Lake leaves several possible meeting points.

Passport-specific admission

Neo's Stone Forest Geopark Entry Ticket publishes a passport-specific route: supply the passport number, carry the original physical passport and enter by its linked record.

The product explicitly says that no QR code is provided. Its published cancellation rule gives a full refund up to 24 hours before the activity. Buy the selected date and follow that order's identity and entry instructions.

Self-guided return car

For a self-guided visit, buy this admission and separately arrange a car from 东风东路29号 to 石林风景区游客中心 and back to the same hotel.

Put the outward time, visitor-centre meeting point, waiting allowance, return time and total including parking and road charges in the car booking. The cart wording on the published ticket page leaves its coverage unclear across offers: count a separately priced park-cart purchase unless your issued offer explicitly includes it.

Private guided alternative

Andy's private china tours: Kunming Private Tour of the Stone Forest publishes another purchase path with a private return car and entrance ticket.

Choose the Stone Forest-only option and English guide when you want interpretation; the self-guided and longer add-on options serve different visits. Give the actual central hotel address as the pickup and return. Buy the entrance once: a dated car-and-admission package and a separate Neo entry are alternative arrangements.

Dated conditions and fallback

The tour page advertises 7–10 hours and a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Read the selected option's final amount, start, meal and internal-vehicle inclusion before payment. Keep the booking voucher and original passports available to the supplier. Neo's direct passport scan instructions apply to Neo's admission product; Andy's order uses the entry instructions issued for its own package.

Official reservation

Use the museum's official website and its official WeChat or Alipay reservation entrance.

The visitor-service page directs WeChat users to 云南省博物馆 and the reply 预约. Secure the actual visit date for each person's identity before making the museum your fixed block. The current published service information leaves the online passport-field procedure unresolved; contact the museum at +86 871 6728 6223 for help obtaining an accepted official reservation, rather than substituting a mainland ID.

If there is no reservation

If you cannot obtain that reservation, choose the public Guandu streets and tower exterior, then return to your central hotel, or retain Cuihu and Old Street.

This replacement has its own route below. Arriving with a passport alone establishes neither a reserved slot nor admission.

Airport metro chain

The airport operator places 机场中心 / Airport Centre metro station on B2 and identifies Line 6 to 塘子巷 / Tangzixiang.

From arrivals, follow the metro signs and take Line 6 toward Tangzixiang. There, change to the Line 1/2 through-service platform toward 北部汽车站 and alight at 东风广场. This central connection is also described in the transport company's 8 July 2026 route notice.

Last walk and whole journey

Use the signed surface exit for 东风东路, then walk east to the hotel at 东风东路29号; allow 8–15 minutes for this last walk, crossings and the correct hotel door.

Allow roughly 70–100 minutes from reaching the airport metro to the bed including waiting, changing and walking. Passport control and baggage retrieval precede that allowance.

Ticket or code failure

If a ride code or machine payment fails, go to the staffed metro service centre and show your destination.

Use the existing Kunming metro ticket fallback for this specific problem. Buy a ticket to 东风广场 and retain it through the exit. Airport app instructions describing WeChat or Alipay binding do not guarantee every foreign account's ride-code activation.

Taxi alternative

For a late arrival, heavy luggage or several people, take the signed official taxi queue and show the full hotel name and Chinese address.

Allow 45–75 minutes on the road as a planning estimate, longer in congestion. Send the hotel your flight arrival and use an agreed licensed pickup if you want a driver waiting. Summer-only extra metro trains ended their stated period on 10 September; base an October late arrival on the operating service shown that evening or a road transfer.

Kunming station

昆明站 / Kunming serves the central city's southern rail approach.

From the signed taxi pickup, show 昆明中心假日酒店，东风东路29号; allow 20–40 minutes on the road, then reach the actual hotel reception. A central-station arrival is the easier luggage journey for this bed. Metro signs distinguish the station's south-side access from its north-side surface approach; choose a taxi if your exit leaves an inconvenient walk with bags.

Kunming South

昆明南站 / Kunming South is in Chenggong / 呈贡, much farther southeast.

Follow the rail station's signed taxi pickup and use the same hotel address; allow 50–80 minutes on the road, with more holiday margin. If your booked train arrives here, keep this last road leg in the arrival period. A room beside Kunming South trades that one arrival ride for repeated commutes during the city stay.

Read the issued ticket

Read the station on the actual 12306 ticket, including 昆明 or 昆明南, train number and date.

Retain the original passport used for the reservation for station entry. A driver collecting you needs the station, train and agreed exit or pickup zone, rather than the phrase Kunming railway station.

Approach and park route

Start from the public south-side approach on 翠湖南路.

Hotel connection

From the default hotel, use a taxi to 翠湖公园南门, or combine the Line 3 五一路 approach with the walk north.

Park time

Give the park 1½–2 hours, including sitting in shade.

Follow the open lakeside paths and cross a few bridges, rather than completing every island. Return to the south-side street for the onward greenway, or use the same entrance as your car pickup for a shorter visit.

Public-access boundary

Keep this as a public park walk.

The yellow Yunnan Military Academy / 云南陆军讲武堂 beside the lake adds a recognizable exterior; a museum interior needs its own currently offered opening and admission. Seasonal birds and flowers are a possible addition, rather than a condition for this circuit. A calm park hour still works when the postcard spectacle is absent.

Join the walking route

Use the 2026 Cuihu urban greenway south of 翠湖南路 and west of 黄公东街 / Huanggong East Street to join the Old Street area.

The municipal report describes a roughly 620 m connector; that short link is one part of your wider park-to-street walk. Stop for lunch around Wenlin Street before heading south if you want the noodle shop described below.

Streets and visit

Explore 文明街 / Wenming Street and 景星街 / Jingxing Street for older street fronts, small lanes and present-day shops.

Compare the narrow frontage with the broad pedestrian space at 南屏街 / Nanping Street, then choose one café or snack stop instead of shopping through every lane. Allow 2–3 hours with a meal. This is a functioning commercial district; individual shops keep their own hours and the public street walk carries no general shop-entry ticket.

Return to the hotel

Finish toward 南屏街 and 宝善街, then return east toward 东风广场 and 东风东路29号.

Use Line 3 from 五一路 toward 东部汽车站 for 东风广场, or take a taxi after dinner. If you stay at Grand Park, reverse the central walk and finish by the lake. When crowded, retain one Old Street lane and a seated meal; an exhaustive shopping circuit adds little to the city experience.

Journey and shore walk

From 东风东路29号, allow 35–60 minutes by taxi as an ordinary-road planning allowance.

Walk along the open lake path for 1½–2 hours, comparing the changing water and mountain view, sit for a break, then return to the same agreed road pickup. The shore walk itself needs no cableway ticket. Boats, bicycles and other sold activities are separate choices; add one only when its return point and displayed charge suit the outing.

Shorter visit and return

A shoreline-only block suits tired legs or an uncertain mountain forecast.

Pair it with lunch and the return to your central hotel. Choose a comfortable turnaround on the shore rather than walking north until the hotel ride becomes an improvised late-evening problem. Gull presence is seasonal; the lake landscape is the reliable reason to come.

B route and chairlift boundary

B creates a different road endpoint. Choose it only after the issued instructions identify the bus stop, direction and final pickup; arrange the return car there.

The mountain's 龙门索道 / Longmen chairlift is a separate service from 滇池索道. The September maintenance and reopening information leaves its current operation unestablished, so this route does not depend on that chairlift.

Guided alternative and fallback

For an English-guided alternative, 51 Adventures on Pelago publishes a Western Hills and Dounan tour with selected-hotel pickup and return, passport name/number/expiry/country at booking, and a mobile or paper voucher.

Its admission coverage needs the actual selected offer's written terms, as do the cancellation deadline and pickup at this hotel. If those terms or the mountain admission remain unresolved, retain the Haigeng shore circuit and return to your central room; the lake block still delivers its main view.

Address and journey

Use the 广福路6393号 · 云南省博物馆 address, at the provincial museum's new southern-city site. This is a different venue from 昆明市博物馆 / Kunming City Museum.

From the central hotel, allow 35–60 minutes by road, reach the signed visitor entrance with the issued official reservation and original identity document, and give the galleries 2–3 hours.

Hours and reservation

The museum's published ordinary timetable lists Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00, last entry 16:30.

Holidays can change those hours and Monday opening. Use the museum's visitor-service information and official WeChat or Alipay booking channel to confirm the selected-date session; only an issued reservation secures entry. Choose a morning or early-afternoon slot for a meaningful gallery visit, since last entry leaves much less time than the circuit above. If no usable museum session is available, keep the lake or old-city route instead.

Admission and gallery conditions

The permanent visit is free with the required reservation; individually sold special exhibitions have their own terms.

Use the gallery sequence available on your date. A June notice extending the Ancient Yunnan gallery's closure through 7 July establishes that historical period; it gives no October closure. Keep large luggage at the hotel, and follow the museum's storage, photography and food rules. After the visit, take a short separate car leg to Guandu, then return from its named street pickup to the central bed.

Entrance and street circuit

Use the 云秀路 side's 官渡古镇大牌坊 as the arrival and return meeting point.

Walk into the public streets toward 金刚塔 and the Miaozhan Temple / 妙湛寺 setting, then make a compact loop through the adjacent lanes and return to the same arch. Allow 1½–2 hours including a snack. The public street-and-exterior circuit is the choice here; separately managed temple interiors and activities depend on their posted admission.

Transfer, weather and return

From the museum, allow 10–20 minutes for the short road transfer as an estimate.

From Guandu back to 东风东路29号, allow 35–60 minutes and retain a pickup message naming the arch. Without a museum slot, a central morning → lunch → Guandu afternoon → original hotel makes a usable alternative. During heavy rain, shorten the public loop to sheltered streets and a seated meal, or remain near your hotel until the weather eases.

Meeting point and visit time

Use 金桂街76号 · 斗南花卉市场2号门 / 2号通道 for the car meeting point.

From Guandu, allow 25–45 minutes by road; from the central hotel, allow 50–80 minutes. Browse the open retail aisles for 1–1½ hours in the late afternoon or early evening, then return to the same gate and the prearranged central-hotel car. This is a Chenggong outing farther south, rather than a market beside Old Street.

Retail access and purchases

The public retail browse has no activity booking in this plan.

Actual stalls and sold workshops set their own hours and charges. If buying flowers, ask whether the displayed amount is per stem, bunch or wrapped bouquet before selecting; wrapping changes both size and cost. One small bunch is a manageable room purchase. A bulky bouquet creates luggage trouble, especially before an international flight.

Return and fallback

Agree the return pickup and amount before leaving the hotel.

If using the metro instead, buy a ticket for the actual 金桂街·斗南花市 destination and establish that evening's last usable connection at the staffed station before browsing. If the late connection is unsuitable, use the agreed taxi. Drop this optional evening when tired; retain dinner and the same bed instead of extending a long Stone Forest day south across the city.

Car and complete time block

Reserve a morning departure from the central hotel and the dated admission or package described above.

Road allowance

A private car usually needs roughly 1½–2 hours each way as a planning allowance, with more holiday or weather margin.

Keep the whole outward-visit-return block clear; the supplier's advertised 7–10-hour range is a useful comparison, rather than a promise of exact traffic conditions. Give the driver 石林风景区游客中心 and the issued order's entrance instructions.

Entry and passport

At the visitor centre, establish the order's staffed admission point, cart coverage, currently open walking route and return exit before setting out.

Physical passport

With Neo's selected admission, the physical passport is the entry credential; a search for a missing QR wastes time.

If its record fails, use the order's supplier support at the staffed entrance while retaining your passport and payment record. Resolve the order before purchasing a duplicate admission.

Shorter route and weather

Choose a lower, shorter Major Forest loop for tired legs; the viewpoint steps and winding stone paths require care.

With a guide, ask for the relationship between the rock forms and local stories, rather than stopping at every named rock. With a self-guided ticket, use the park's marked paths and orient yourself at each junction. Rain makes the surfaces slippery, and exposed rock viewpoints suit a clear, calm period.

Food, bags and transport scope

Take water and a snack, and agree whether lunch is included or a separate stop before departure.

Bring passports in a secure day bag; leave suitcases at the Kunming hotel. A train to a station named Shilin or Shilin West creates an additional last-mile journey to the park. The car plan here supplies both park legs and a return to the original bed. Jiuxiang caves, another mountain or a city tour are separate additions that change the chosen package and remaining hours.

Closure or severe weather

If a dated closure or severe weather removes the park visit, use the booking's actual change or refund terms and retain the central or Guandu combination.

If Stone Forest is the main reason for the stay, protect another available full block by moving the lake outing; preserve its car and admission arrangements together.

Branch and menu

端仕小锅（文林街店） · 文林街74号 is a named stop near the Cuihu side of the central walk.

The restaurant listing's menu names small-pot rice noodles and 卤饵丝 / braised rice-cake strips. Use the Chinese branch and street for navigation; choose from the displayed menu when you arrive.

Flavour and ordering words

The January 2026 local cuisine account describes 小锅米线 as a single pot cooked with minced meat, rice noodles, greens and seasonings, finished with chilli oil.

Expect a hot, savoury bowl with herbs and chilli, rather than a long multi-plate meal. Start with one bowl per person. For less heat, say 免红，辣椒另放 / leave out the red chilli and serve it separately. 加青 asks for more greens; 宽汤 asks for more broth.

Portions and ingredients

For two, begin with two noodle bowls and share one small snack if you still want it.

The braised rice strips make a different texture choice; choose them instead of another full noodle bowl. Read the price per portion and any size supplement on today's board. Pork, stock and fermented ingredients can remain even after chilli is removed, so show a specific dietary requirement before ordering.

Branch and meal choice

建新园过桥米线（宝善街店） is listed beside the Baoshan Street fire station / 宝善街消防队旁, convenient after Nanping Street.

The published menu includes standard crossing-the-bridge noodles and 凉米线 / cold rice noodles. Choose the standard set when you want broth and separately presented ingredients; ask staff to demonstrate the preparation before eating. One set is an individual meal, so compare two standard sets with the richer meat upgrades before ordering.

Flavour and scope

Cold rice noodles give you a more refreshing sour-and-spicy direction; sauces, garlic and toppings create much of their flavour.

Chilli separately changes the heat, while a different dish is the better choice if you dislike the sour dressing. Let the actual menu and appetite decide the order. The branch's platform location and menu establish a place to stop; old review totals and all-day labels are a poor basis for a current budget or late-night meal.

Shared dinner

For a longer shared dinner by Cuihu, Grand Park's October 2025 operator directory identifies Park Palace for Yunnan and Cantonese dishes.

Arrange a table through the actual hotel and choose its current menu. For two, start with one shared main, one vegetable and rice, then add food after seeing the portions. This trades the quick noodle-shop meal for seating, service and a larger bill.

Breakfast before Stone Forest

Before Stone Forest, use your hotel's offered breakfast or buy a simple meal near the bed.

Establish the breakfast opening and whether it is in the room rate the previous evening. Carry water and a snack for the walking period, and leave a relaxed central dinner until after you have returned. A small bowl near the hotel is the practical backup when a named shop is closed or has a long queue.

Issued station and car

Reserve the actual onward train on 12306 and read its departure station.

Dali or Lijiang travel starts from the station printed on that train, rather than whichever station you used on arrival. Have the hotel arrange a car to 昆明站 or 昆明南站 with the station named in writing.

Departure buffers

As planning buffers from 东风东路29号, leave roughly 75–105 minutes before a Kunming-station train, or 105–150 minutes before a Kunming-South train, combining the road journey with 45–60 minutes for the station.

Increase the road allowance for holiday traffic or the hotel's current advice. Keep the original passport and train details in your day bag.

Bags and final city period

The default hotel's departure time is 12:00.

For a later train, agree storage, take a central walk, return to collect bags and meet the station car at the actual hotel door. A final museum or far-lake visit adds both its return leg and bag collection. Stone Forest consumes a complete road day; finish it the day before a protected early departure.

Airport return

For the airport, reverse the central metro chain: 东风广场 → the Line 1/2 service toward 塘子巷 → Line 6 toward 机场中心 → terminal.

Use it only when the operating connections leave the airline's required terminal-arrival buffer. With early flights or luggage, arrange the hotel-door road transfer and allow 45–75 minutes on the road plus the airline's domestic or international arrival requirement. Airside procedures and road time are separate allowances.
