The metro line includes eligible airport rides only when they fit the passes’ 72-hour windows and train operating hours. Add any uncovered airport transfer, taxi, special exhibition or extra meal day. International flights, visa costs, insurance and shopping are outside this example. Refundable deposits are separate temporary funds.

For Yu Garden’s low season, its posted adult fare is CNY 30: change the admission line to CNY 60 and the same example becomes CNY 2,100. The peak periods are April–June and September–November; July–August and December–March use the lower fare.

What the CNY 90 transport subtotal covers

Each pass runs for 72 hours from its first gate entry, with eligible rides during operating hours.

The June 2026 government guide excludes Maglev and suburban railway lines opened in 2024 or later, including the Airport Link Line.

Shanghai Metro Line 2 to Pudong Airport is a different service.

Calculator allocation within the pass window
For eligible Line 2 airport journeys within the same pass window, enter CNY 0 in the calculator’s airport line and CNY 90 in city transport; this counts the passes once.
Extra airport fares
If the return is outside the 72-hour window, or you choose Maglev, the Airport Link Line, a taxi or a private transfer, enter those extra two-person fares in the airport line.

A pass is a fixed-cost option: a few single rides may cost less. Use the operator’s route and fare query to compare the actual hotel-to-station journeys and leave time for the last connection.

Choose visits that fit the opening days

The basic example combines Yu Garden, the Bund and Shanghai Museum East’s ordinary permanent galleries. The garden admission is the paid line.

Yu Garden normally closes on Mondays except national holidays; its listed hours are 09:00–16:30, with last entry at 16:00.
Museum East opening boundary
The East museum normally opens Wednesday–Monday, 10:00–18:00, with last entry at 17:00, and closes on Tuesdays except national holidays.

Match the two visits to their open days rather than putting both on a closed day.

Ordinary versus separate arrangements
Ordinary individual entry currently needs no advance reservation; ticketed exhibitions, the Digital Gallery and Curio-City have separate arrangements.

A permanent-gallery visit and a special-exhibition ticket are different budget choices.

Optional: World Tree at People’s Square

The culture authority posted a CNY 148 ticket price on 20 September 2026 for the World Tree exhibition, whose listed end date is 14 November 2027. Two tickets at that posted rate add CNY 296: the peak-season example becomes CNY 2,416. Select the ticket product for your two adults and use your dated order’s final amount; the notice does not specify concession categories. Remove this option after the exhibition ends. Add any exhibition audio rental separately using the desk’s terms.

Fill each line without counting twice

  • Hotel: use the entire room payment for both adults and all three nights, with taxes and mandatory fees. Keep refundable deposits separate. Confirm the property’s passport and arrival arrangements with the hotel before paying.
  • Meals: remove breakfast included in the room. Add meals on any arrival or departure date beyond the three meal days used here. Use current menus or your own cap.
  • Transport: count a pass only once. The airport line is for journeys outside what you already included in city transport. Price late-arrival taxi or car transfers for both adults and your luggage.
  • Admissions and extras: use the tickets you actually choose. Enter zero if your route has no paid visit. Add audio rental, cycle hire or other optional spending once.
  • Deposits: enter the written amount and refund method. Add these to temporary funds needed, not to trip spending; keep the original passport with the traveller.

If the plan or price changes

  1. Garden closed or arrival after 16:00: move it to an open morning. Keep the Bund as the flexible outdoor visit; remove the garden ticket if it no longer fits.
  2. Chosen exhibition unavailable: remove that optional ticket amount. Keep the East museum permanent galleries on an open day.
  3. Last metro connection missed: use the airport’s official taxi queue or an arranged transfer and replace that uncovered airport cost with the current amount.
  4. Room price or deposit differs: replace the room total and separate deposit inputs before committing to the rest of the budget.
