Pudong to Shanghai Disney with luggage

Choose a direct car for this arrival-day trip. With suitcases on arrival day, the default is the airport taxi queue to Shanghai Disney Resort West Public Transportation Hub. Store your bags at the official facility opposite Wishing Star Park’s West Gate, then continue on foot to the Disneyland main entrance. Airport Link adds a bus transfer; its Shanghai International Resort station is not the park gate.

For an afternoon arrival, decide after you clear the airport whether enough park time remains. The taxi route reduces transfers with suitcases; traffic, storage and admission still affect the time you reach the park.

Before you leave the airport

Your flight's arrival time is not your taxi departure time: disembarkation, immigration, baggage collection and customs still come first. Once landside, put these within reach: your park booking and visit date, the travel document used for it, a charged phone, and tonight’s hotel name and address saved in Chinese.

Use the actual time you are ready to leave to decide whether you still want an arrival-day park visit. Account for the road journey, the walk from the drop-off, baggage storage, security and admission. A car’s arrival estimate ends before those last steps. Before paying for the airport ride, use the Disney admission and booking steps to check the actual date, product, original document and change terms. If you have no valid admission arrangement for today, or the remaining visit would be too short for what you came to do, go to your booked hotel and plan Disney for another valid ticket date. Direct route: taxi, with DiDi as an optional booking method

If DiDi already works for you, compare its displayed wait and journey estimate and follow its permitted pickup/drop-off instructions. Confirm the actual endpoint with the driver: a generic Disneyland pin may differ from the taxi hub. If the meeting point or destination is unclear, use the airport taxi queue. Check the fare or app quote before accepting the ride.

What you can store—and what you cannot take inside

Disney’s official storage page currently lists RMB 80 per ordinary item per day, or RMB 10 for an eligible small item whose length, width and height total no more than 60 cm. Storage remains available for at least one hour after park closing; read the location’s posted closing time and retrieve bags that day using your claim ticket. Capacity and acceptance of an unusually large item are not guaranteed.

The facility excludes valuables, food, dangerous or flammable goods, weapons and imitations, odorous items, animals/plants, and items needing special storage conditions. Keep your passport, money, phone and other valuables with you; remove excluded contents before presenting the bag. Disney Resort hotel guests have a published luggage-delivery option from this facility to their resort hotel. Wheeled luggage of any size is prohibited inside Disneyland. Bags larger than 56 × 36 × 23 cm are also prohibited. A cabin-size suitcase is therefore not a workaround, and an in-park locker is not your arrival-luggage plan. Official park rules

Airport Link and Pudong 70: complete the transfer

Choose this only if you can handle your bags on a train and bus and accept an additional wait. From Pudong Airport T1 & T2 / 浦东1号2号航站楼, take Airport Link toward Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 / 虹桥2号航站楼 and get off at the next station, Shanghai International Resort / 上海国际旅游度假区. Use Exit 3, then Pudong 70 / 浦东70路 toward 申迪西路公交枢纽. Get off at that terminal hub, then follow the same walking-and-storage steps above. Check the destination display before boarding; do not board toward Zhangjiang. The government’s connection guidance identifies this bus route and warns that walking from the station to Disneytown is about 2.5 km. That is why the station name alone is misleading with suitcases. The connection guidance was published in 2024–2025. Check the station’s current departure display and the Pudong 70 destination before using this branch. If the bus connection is unavailable, book a car from the permitted station pickup point to the taxi hub, or divert to your booked hotel. Avoid starting the 2.5 km walk with suitcases to rescue the plan.

If storage fails or the afternoon runs out

Do not join the park-entry queue with a suitcase that has not been accepted for storage. If the facility is full, closed or rejects your bag, return to the West Public Transportation Hub and take a taxi to tonight’s booked hotel. Use the Shanghai city guide for the remaining city days after this hotel diversion. Check in if available; use pre-check-in storage only if that hotel accepts it. There is no universal hotel storage guarantee. Keep your bags with you until a staffed service has accepted them and issued a receipt or claim ticket.

If that detour leaves too little park time, stop the arrival-day attempt. Retain your booking and handle any date change through the ticket’s seller under its actual conditions. Do not abandon bags, buy another ticket on the assumption of a refund, or rely on an unverified roadside storage offer to rescue the afternoon.
